Our Approach

We take a holistic approach to golf instruction and club fitting, focusing not only on swing mechanics but also on mental and physical fitness. Our goal is to help our students achieve their full potential and enjoy the game for a lifetime.

Club fitting through instruction combines the technical process of customizing golf clubs to a player’s specific needs with golf instruction to enhance overall performance. Here’s a breakdown of how this approach works and what it entails:

1. Assessment of Swing Mechanics

Initial Analysis: The process starts with observing and analyzing the player’s natural swing mechanics. This includes their stance, grip, tempo, and impact position.
Technology Use: Launch monitors (e.g., Trackman, FlightScope) are often used to measure swing data, such as clubhead speed, ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, and smash factor.
Instructor Insights: A golf instructor identifies areas for improvement in swing technique to create a baseline for fitting.

2. Club Performance Evaluation
Existing Equipment: The player’s current clubs are analyzed to identify inconsistencies with their swing or areas for improvement.
Fitting Variables:

Club Length: Adjusted for height, posture, and swing mechanics.
Lie Angle: Tailored to ensure proper turf interaction and ball flight.
Shaft Type: Customized based on swing speed and tempo (e.g., steel vs. graphite, stiff vs. regular flex).
Grip Size: Selected for comfort and control.
Clubhead Design: Optimized for forgiveness, workability, or a balance of both.

3. Instruction Integration

Swing Adjustments: The instructor works with the player to implement minor swing changes that improve consistency and maximize the benefits of fitted clubs.
Feedback Loop: As the swing evolves, the fitter may revisit adjustments to ensure the clubs remain a perfect match.
Skill Development: Instruction focuses on improving contact, ball flight, and distance control.

4. Testing and Fine-Tuning

On-Course Testing: Fitted clubs are tested on the course to evaluate real-world performance.
Adjustments: Based on results, additional tweaks (e.g., loft or weight adjustments) are made.
Player Feedback: The player’s preferences and comfort are prioritized throughout the process.

5. Long-Term Benefits

Improved Performance: A synergistic approach leads to better accuracy, distance, and confidence.
Reduced Errors: Properly fitted clubs reduce the chances of mishits caused by ill-suited equipment.
Skill Progression: As the player’s skills develop, further fittings can enhance their game over time.
